Happy Birthday Car!!!

Please join me in wishing Car a happy XXth birthday!  I’m not sure if I’m able to disclose actual age, so I’m playing it safe for now.  You can’t take any chances on a big day like this…you know how it is.  Don’t want to hear the one that starts off “do you remember my XXth birthday, when you told everyone…”.  However, for a small fee…rather a donation…to her birthday fund, I may be able to disclose the second digit. I’m sure you could figure out the first since she’s not really that young…but not really that old either. Careful…I may be cutting it a little close with that last line.

Anyway, may MR sleep late (so that Car can do the same), may she wake up happy, and may her mom love the gift her husband gave her.  You can’t ask for much more than that on your birthday.

I love you Car

These are a few of my favorite things…

Chicken Pot Pie Dinner at Aunt and Uncle B’s,

an early surprise birthday cake,

sweet chubby thighs,

Petey Pie’s Kitchen–it’s open 24 hours and is a lot cleaner than the Waffle House,

Georgia streets lined of gold,

and constant smiles from sweet Mary Reese!

Camp Grandparents

The girls stayed in their pajamas, baby Trent stayed in Gran C’s arms, and the camera stayed close by in an attempt to capture every lasting moment of the weekend.

Friday was spent on the living room floor, surrounded by toys, watching Hendley and Mary Reese make up for lost time. Big Daddy and the boys manned the grill and cooked up some of the best burgers, hot dogs, and bratwursts around.

On Saturday, we left all three babies- ranging from 6 weeks to 19 months in age- with Big Daddy and Gran C and headed to campus to cheer on the Dawgs against Tennessee. BBQ sandwiches, Brunswick stew, and a Bulldawg victory made for the perfect afternoon.

Just as it always does, the weekend came and went entirely too fast. Thankfully, the Sunday Blues were quickly overshadowed by a huge Honey Baked ham, creamy mac’n'cheese, and a big ol’ pot of green beans. The meal was the perfect end to a fun, family-filled weekend. A big thanks to Gran C and Big Daddy for hosting the first annual Cousin’s weekend at Camp Grandparents! Now we just gotta get the Boucek’s closer so we can enjoy these weekends more often!

These two girls…

Julie, Bill, me, G, Gran C and Big Daddy,

and of course the two grandogs, will all be residing at one house this weekend. Looking forward to a big Georgia win and lots of laughs!

Sorry MR, but your daddy refused to do the “jump and twirl” routine in public to make you smile. Believe it or not, out of 10 pictures, this one was the best.

G and I are counting down the days til’ next weekend. We can hardly wait to see Bill, Julie, and Hendley and meet Baby Trent!

Next thing you know, she’ll be starting kindergarten

Pair a colorful sweater with an oversized Peter Pan collar and you’ve got one cute and sweet little girl…Slow down Mary Reese, if you grow any faster, we’re going to have to start talking about baby #2!

12 month checkup

MR is her daddy’s child. She looks just like him. And thankfully, acts like him too. Yesterday at her yearly checkup, sweet MR received 4 shots. Unlike her mama, she didn’t wine, cry, or flinch at the sight of the extra long needles. Even the nurses were impressed! They were also impressed by her growth. Over the last year, MR has grown 10 1/4 inches long and has gained almost 16 pounds! We are so thankful for our healthy baby girl!
