This Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving marked a new era. An era where three kids, all under the age of two, ruled the roost. An era where five dogs roamed the house, and an era where all formality was thrown out the window.

This Thanksgiving, the fine china was replaced by paper plates. Mismatched flatware and turkey printed napkins took the place of Chantilly silver and freshy pressed family linens. This Thanksgiving, we exchanged the formal dining room for an oil stained carport and drank sweet tea from red solo cups.

This Thanksgiving, we celebrated what mattered most–good Southern cooking, lots and lots of pecan pie, and of course, family!

Something tells me that the two little girls will rule the roost for many years to come. The three little ones give us a good excuse to keep it simple. Big Daddy and Gran C loved every minute and we are very thankful for each person in the family pic!!!

THIS Thanksgiving was simply the BEST. And not just because of my macaroni!

Miss y’all already! LOL (and that is for Lots of Love in this case).

  3. I think silver is overrated. Linens, too. I’ll take a paper plate and good family any day! Wish I could have been there, too :-)

The orange dresses are too cute. Where did you get one? I’ve been looking for a similar cut dress for Chuck.

Your Mossimo dress is darling! Very versatile…dress it up or down. I would say that since the dress isn’t made of a heavy/luxurious fabric I’d go with simply a pair of sheer black hose. If you want to go a little crazy you could do a subtle small fish-net hose (Nordstroms has the best ones but you could find them at any departments store. Make sure you get some that are good quality or else you’ll look like a hussy :-) . I figured since the dress falls right above the knee, opaque tights would just be too much. Make sure you wear a pair of kick a$% high heels too.

As for jewelry, I’d go with a pair of grand, glamorous earrings because the top front of the dress is already busy with buttons and such. I’d put my hair up (if you feel comfortable) or half way up…just enough to expose some of your ears to show off the bling bling. HA! Also get some complementary bracelets. Right now I’m loving the vintage looking jewel toned jewelry (faux emeralds, rubies, amethyst, saphire, etc.) I think the big glamorous earrings will really dress up the dress and make it festive for the party. I would definitely try Forever 21 and Target – I know they have GREAT options. And lastly, wear a deep red or burgundy nail polish.

    Have fun!
