It took all I had to wait until after Thanksgiving to buy a Christmas tree. After a big pancake breakfast last Friday, we headed out to find the perfect tree. An hour later and a brief run in with a jacketless Santa whom we nicknamed “Southern Santa”, we finally settled on one…
Even the weather is starting to feel like Christmas. An hour of sleet today had our local weathermen talking about the potential for a “winter storm”. God love the south. At the mere mention of winter precipitation, we close schools, run to the grocery store, and convert our trashcan lids into sleds.
If you look real close, you can see the impact of our “big winter storm”…
Ok, I’m as bad as the rest of them. I stayed outside the whole hour just in case…
Thankfully the “big storm” didn’t put a damper on our community Christmas parade. We, ok I, got all dolled up to see Santa and to watch the lighting of the towncenter Christmas tree. I’m still trying to figure out why I felt it necessary to wear peep toe heels…my feet are cold just thinking about it.
Well Merry Christmas to the Harvey’s. It was great to see great Aunt Sadie in lights. She is such a natural for the camera ’cause she has to be with a camera lovin Reester in her life. Christmas is happening all around us. I have tuned up the Christmas volume to a higher level and I watching Falalala Lifetime movies each night. Looking forward to having Mary Reese this weekend and visiting Smyrna. Love, Gran C
All the pictures were great. I especially love Great Aunt Sadie in lights. That should be on a Christmas card.
When you look so cute you end up forgetting that it’s too cold to wear peep toes. I do it all the time. I say you get some stylish black riding boots for this potential “southern winter storm”. When I looked in the pic, I totally saw “winter”!
Charlie has the same bunny hat. Why don’t we live in the same town? Our girls could be BFF’s.
Look at you posing for the picture!
The tree is beautiful!!! Is MR walking yet?
Joy,
Glad you noticed:) I call it the skinny pose. I accidentally stumbled across it in an old photo and its now become my standard.
MR is taking steps but not walking on her own. Shes 28 pounds and solid as a rock so Im praying really hard that she will start soon.
I love the tree! And the precious MR standing beside it with that big ol’ bow is just too cute for words. But, my favorite picture of the whole lot is Sadie in lights. It really could be a Christmas card picture!
I’ll trade you 80 degrees for your “big winter storm.” Wanna? Oh, how I miss the south!!
I don’t know how I’ve missed this before – where did you get MR’s navy coat with white buttons? I’m dying…(Ugh, I just sounded like Rachel Zoe)
Thanks for all the suggestions you left for Melissa! I know she’ll really appreciate it.
Daniella,
Ebay…$11. It’s cheaply made, but should get us through the season:)
