Two hours in radiology, five and a half hours in outpatient surgery, two Elmo balloons, a fabulous dinner made by a nonstop mother-in-law, and many prayers that were felt throughout the day…G and I cannot thank everyone enough for the nonstop love and support we have experienced over the last few weeks. G’s surgery went well. The surgeon removed three lymph nodes–two under his arm and one on the backside of his arm. He also removed a spot on Garrett’s chest. The results should be back on Wednesday, so please continue to pray that we will receive good news and that G is cancer-free!
MR has loved all of the extra attention she has been receiving from Danny, Papa, and Gran-C. We cant wait to get this little girl down south so that she can be closer to her grandparents!
Thanks for this update, Carly…I’ve been checking your blog all day. We’re so glad things went well today and we will continue to pray for a great report next week!
Oh, Carly…I pray that the next seven days will FLY by. I know that waiting on the results can be worse than the actual surgery. I am praying that God will deliver G from this cancer-scare and that it will never return to be an issue again. I know you must feel an enormous amount of stress right now, so it’s important that you take good care of yourself. Rely on all those sweet grandparents to carry some of the load and allow you to rest. You need it and you deserve it!
At church tonight, we talked about Jesus being our shepherd and how he carries us when we can’t carry ourselves. It was a beautiful visual image to think of Jesus carrying us like little lambs/sheep upon His shoulders when we are just too weak to even walk by His side. I think this is one of those times when you and G need to be carried, and I know you both are on His shoulders at this very moment!
Carly ~ I’m praying for y’all as you play the waiting game for the test results. Your posts are just precious; thanks for letting all of us have a little insight into your lives. You are such an amazing woman!! ~ B
Still sending up prayers in Milledgeville…and I called to check, hope Julie told you.
Carly,
Sorry I am just getting around to posting a comment. I hope G is recovering from his surgery and in not too much pain.
I pray that this next week will fly by for you. I pray that God will give you both some peace for this situation. I feel certain that the doctors will give him a clean report, but I know you are both worried about it.
Please keep us posted.
